Willard D. (Bill) Hanna, Jr.
Bill's extensive legal background includes catastrophic personal injury, workers' compensation, and construction litigation, as well as mediation and arbitration. He represented insurance-related interests in both the public and private sectors for over twenty-five years before he began representing the rights of injured people. In addition to having been selected for inclusion in SuperLawyers, he has been for many years had the distinction of being named in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. The "preeminent" designation is given by Martindale-Hubbell, the most recognized rating system for lawyers worldwide. Certified as an arbitrator and mediator in both state and federal courts, he has been elected to the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.
Hanna, who has been practicing law for more than 35 years, has a solo practice in Myrtle Beach. He was previously a member (partner) in the Myrtle Beach office of Nexsen Pruet as a Member (partner) in the firm and practiced with the litigation group. Prior to that, he was a partner with Harris & Hanna in Surfside Beach, S.C.
He is a lifelong resident of the coastal region of South Carolina and has been actively involved in youth activities. A founding member of the prestigious and nationally recognized Beach Ball Classic Basketball Tournament, he has been a volunteer recreational and AAU baseball coach for over 30 years.
A former prosecutor and city judge in Surfside Beach, he is a member of the South Carolina Bar, and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of South Carolina, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
